Trust is good, control is better. With the adoption of Implementing Decision (EU) 2025/1900 by the European Commission on 22 September 2025, the control programme for 2026 was finalised.

Based on EU Control Regulation 2017/625, the Commission hereby provides information on its control priorities for the coming year. The following priorities (selection) have been identified:

- Food of animal origin: as well as the safety of fish and fishery products, with a focus on chemical safety, in particular residues of pharmacologically active substances, pesticides and contaminants (including in (still) living animals).
- Food contact materials: those made from recycled plastic.
- Organic farming: food quality
- Animal feed: medicated feed and GMOs in animal feed

YOUR PLUS: The checks carried out by EU experts in the Member States also implicitly provide information on the focus of national official controls. This plan should be taken into particular consideration when drawing up or adapting product-related test plans. The food experts at AGROLAB laboratories will be happy to assist you with the preparation of test plans upon request.
