AGROLAB's special laboratory for solid non-mineral waste in Plauen offers a broad range of tests. A special feature of waste analysis is the extremely elaborate sample preparation using specifically developed instruments, which can achieve reliable results even with large heterogeneous masses. A plausibility check of the analysis values, i.e. comparison with historical data, is also included in our service.

Overview of our lab services

Non-mineral waste

Non-mineral waste

Waste analysis begins with the extremely complex preparation of samples to ensure that they are representative. For this purpose, our laboratory provides specially developed apparatus: nitrogen-cooled waste shredders with a maximum particle size of 30 cm, metal-free cutting mills and grinding devices, as well as thermal drying equipment.

In the run-up to each assignment, we coordinate all the quality-assurance aspects of the monitoring process with the client: analysis parameters, methods, relevant thresholds, acceptance criteria.

Refuse-derived and secondary fuels

Refuse-derived fuels (RDF)

Our AWV-Dr. Busse laboratory in Plauen specialises in the analysis of solid and liquid secondary fuels and solid biofuels.

In addition to using modern analytical techniques such as ICP, IC, GC-MS, GC-ECD, GC-FID, CHNS elemental analysers and calorimeters, innovative and complex preparatory methods are applied to these matrices. These entail shredders for objects with edges measuring up to one metre, cutting mills and ultra-centrifugal mills.
Using such technology, sample volumes of up to 100 litres can be prepared to a high standard, achieving representative analysis samples with a particle size of < 1 mm.

Waste wood analysis

Waste timber analyses for recycling and disposal

Waste wood samples are analysed at our specially designed laboratories in Bruckberg and Plauen. In addition to the parameters of the German Waste Wood Ordinance, numerous other methods are possible, including tests for pesticides and fuel value. Waste wood shredders are available for preparing larger sample quantities, as well as cutting mills with non-wearing titanium blades and grinding facilities. Analysis is performed on appropriately prepared, whole samples.
