RAFA 2022

Finally, the 10th "Recent Advances in Food Analysis" (RAFA) conference was held in Prague.

More than 500 participants from 45 countries met for 4 days to present and discuss their research work - exceptionally at the beginning of September. In several parallel series of lectures and poster presentations, not only the leading European food analysts, but also many young researchers reported on their recent work.

The focus was on current analytical challenges in the field of residue analysis - MOSH/MOAH, PFAS, biotoxins, microplastics. The event, which is organised jointly by UCT Prague (Czech Republic) and Wageningen University (Netherlands), was also devoted to advances in the field of chemometrics, i.e. the combination and statistical evaluation of complex data sets from different analytical approaches, also using "artificial intelligence".

For us as a private laboratory and for our customers, it was particularly interesting to learn about the topics EFSA and the European reference laboratories are working on, because their activities will lead to new EU regulations and thus represent future requirements also for routine analysis.

The next  RAFA will take place in 2024 in November, as in previous years.

YOUR PLUS: We monitor progress in food analysis and check its relevance for routine analysis and align our own method development with future market requirements in good time.
