Ketchup

This confirms rumours that have been circulating for some time. What effects are expected?

Heinz, known to many for its condiments and ketchup, will be taken over by the Philadelphia-based company Global Taste Elevation Co. Other Kraft brands will continue to be operated by North American Grocery Co.

The aim of the split is to make the food giant more agile again. However, there are also risks within the existing supply chains and for future brand policy. In addition, such spin-off processes are lengthy and, at least initially, involve additional costs.

Another unknown factor is whether consumers, especially in the US, will remain loyal to the more than 50 brands. Investors seem to like the news.
