Watering plants

EU Regulation 2024/2711 has reduced the maximum permissible levels for the active substance thiacloprid, which was already banned in 2020. The new limits will apply from 12 May 2025.

Until now, the valid limits for some types of fruit and vegetables were still in the single-digit range. Most products will then be subject to a maximum content of 0.01 mg/kg, with the exception of nuts and fresh herbs (0.02 mg/kg). Transitional rules apply to products placed on the market before 12 May, but not to pears, peaches, raspberries, peppers, Chinese cabbage and lettuce. For these, the new limits will apply immediately from 12 May 2025.
