Looking back, it remains to be said: As the leading international trade fair, Biofach 2024 once again reflected the vitality and growth potential of the organic food industry this year.

The trade fair offered many opportunities for networking and exchanging ideas. The topic of veganism continued to play an important role.

As in previous years, we decided against having our own stand at the fair. Our experience shows that it is much more effective for our sales staff to arrange appointments with customers at their stands in advance and to discuss current issues with the responsible quality managers. By carefully walking through the halls, it is possible to actively enter into dialogue with new exhibitors instead of waiting for visitors in your own booth.

Many exhibitors focused on pulses and oat products, particularly in the form of oat milk in many new flavours. Falafel, vegan and vegetarian tarte flambée and other creative convenience products also proved popular with trade visitors.

In discussions with quality managers, the MOSH/MOAH problem was discussed as a challenge and our range of analyses was explained. The topic of "new genetic engineering" also caused concern among organic suppliers.
