Approval for penflufen now only for grain seed

The use of the active ingredient penflufen is now only permitted for treating cereal seed.

KThe EU Commission has further restricted the approval for the use of penflufen with Regulation 2022/1468 of Sept. 5, 2022. The regulation came into force on Sept. 26, 2022. The fungicidal active ingredient was classified as a carcinogen. Treatment of seed potatoes is no longer permitted as of now.

Member states must amend or revoke authorizations for plant protection products by March 26, 2023, at the latest, even if the active ingredient penflufen itself (CAS No.: 494793-67-8) is still approved in the EU until May 31, 2025
