AGROLAB environmental laboratory in Priolo Gargallo moves to larger premises
Since the end of May 2026, the AGROLAB environmental laboratory in Sicily has been operating from a new site covering around 900 m² in the petrochemical industrial area of Priolo Gargallo. This significant investment marks another step in AGROLAB’s growth and development in Sicily.
The new premises were designed to meet the laboratory’s operational requirements even more effectively by improving workflows, optimising sample management and creating the conditions for further expansion of analytical capacity and instrumental equipment.
The new laboratory was officially inaugurated at a ceremony attended by employees, customers, partners and guests. They had the opportunity to explore the new premises and celebrate this important milestone together with the AGROLAB team.

The laboratory continues to operate in Priolo Gargallo but has moved to a new site within the petrochemical industrial area at Via Litoranea Priolese snc. Around 40 specialists now work there in larger and more functional premises. These support efficient day-to-day operations while also creating better conditions for the laboratory’s future development.
Better conditions for laboratory work and employees
As part of the relocation, the premises were adapted to the requirements of day-to-day laboratory operations. The new layout enables more efficient sample management and shorter analytical turnaround times. This allows the laboratory to increase its production capacity and provide customers with analytical results more quickly.
The new premises have also significantly improved working conditions and employee safety. Certain areas have already been prepared for future expansion. Additional analytical instruments can be installed there, and new technologies and analytical procedures can be introduced.
The relocation therefore creates long-term development opportunities for the laboratory and reinforces the AGROLAB GROUP’s continued commitment to Sicily. “With the new premises, we are not only improving our day-to-day operations, but also creating the necessary conditions to further expand our analytical capacity in Sicily,” explains Stefano Zennaro, Managing Director of AGROLAB Italia S.r.l. a socio unico.
Environmental analyses of water, air and emissions
The environmental laboratory in Priolo Gargallo offers a broad portfolio of services for environmental control, protection and monitoring. Its activities include the analysis of groundwater, surface water, drinking water and wastewater, as well as chemical analyses of atmospheric emissions, ambient air and workplace air.
AGROLAB also offers accredited sampling services for all key environmental matrices and provides customers with comprehensive support throughout the entire analytical process, from sampling through to the preparation of results.
The new premises enable the laboratory’s established services to be delivered even more efficiently, while also creating the conditions for the gradual expansion of its analytical capacity and instrumental equipment.
This development strengthens the role of the Priolo Gargallo laboratory as a point of contact for companies and organisations in the region requiring qualified, reliable and timely environmental analytical services.
Relocation without interruption to laboratory operations
One of the greatest challenges was completing the relocation without interrupting laboratory operations. The laboratory operates seven days a week and ensures both the daily performance of analytical activities and the preparation of results for its customers. The move to the new site therefore required careful planning and continuous coordination of all activities.
“The relocation was a major challenge for our entire team. We are therefore particularly pleased that we were able to maintain laboratory operations without interruption and can now provide our services to customers under even better conditions,” explains Raffaella Mazzarelli, Head of the Laboratory in Priolo Gargallo.
Throughout the entire relocation phase, all accredited analytical methods had to remain available without interruption. This was made possible by the redundancy of the laboratory equipment and the support of other AGROLAB laboratories in Italy. Together, the teams ensured continuity of analysis and the reliable processing of customer orders throughout the relocation period.
With the new premises, the environmental laboratory in Priolo Gargallo now has more space, more efficient workflows and areas already prepared for the future expansion of its analytical capacity.
