CRM - Customer Relationship Management - is a characteristic department for AGROLAB in general and for AGROLAB Alimentalia in particular. The team provides technical assistance to the customer at every stage of the process, both before and after the analysis.
PFAS tests also required in animal feed
One cause of contamination of food of animal origin with PFAS can be found in already contaminated feed. AGROLAB LUFA GmbH therefore offers accredited analysis of PFAS in feed in addition to food.

Health risk from raw food consumption often underestimated
In Germany alone, about 100,000 incidents of illness are reported that are related to microbiological spoilage of food. This is often due to improper handling of food in private households. The number of unreported cases of food-related stomach and intestinal diseases due to poor kitchen hygiene is many times higher.
Risks from pyrrolizidine alkaloids in food
The Federal Institute for Risk Assessment (BfR) has assessed the possible health risks from 1,2-unsaturated pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PA) in food. Pyrrolizidine alkaloids (PAs) are produced by certain plants, fungi and bacteria.

Market News: New CEO at Unilever
Unilever has announced the appointment of Hein Schumacher as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Hein Schuhmacher (51) joins Unilever from Dutch dairy and food company Royal FrieslandCampina and takes over the leadership role from Alan Jope on 1 July 2023, who is going to retire.
ECHA publishes PFAS restriction proposal
On February 7th, the countries of Denmark, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway and Sweden jointly submitted a proposal to restrict PFAS to the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA). The restriction proposal covers a broad range of PFASs. The details of the proposal have been published on the ECHA website.

Hydrocyanic acid glycosides in foods
Hydrocyanic acid glycosides (also known as cyanogenic glycosides) are natural plant constituents found in flaxseed, almonds, apricot kernels and cassava, among others. Cyanogenic glycosides themselves have no harmful effects on the human body.

2023 will be another record-breaking “regulatory year”
Do you remember 2021? In that year, we reported in AGROLAB RADAR on a total of 20 EU regulations concerning changes in maximum residue limits for plant protection products in the fruit and vegetable sector.
Fruit and Vegetables: Approval for pesticide actives extended
The validity period for the approval for 50 active substances has been extended by one year due to the delay in the re-evaluation following the application for renewal of the approval. We list the organic active ingredients only.

No further authorisation for Benfluralin
The authorisation for the herbicide Benfluralin will no longer be renewed. It had last been extended until 28.2.2023.
Mycotoxin contamination in dried figs
The Chemical and Veterinary Investigation Office (CVUA) in Sigmaringen (Baden-Württemberg, Germany) has been regularly testing dried fruit for 5 years. So far, a total of 64 samples of dried figs have been tested for mycotoxins (aflatoxins, Ochratoxin A and Alternaria toxins).
