Our largest laboratory site for food analysis in Germany – AGROLAB LUFA GmbH in Kiel – has joined the German Tea and Herbal Tea Association as a supporting member.
As an independent laboratory with extensive expertise in the analysis and quality assurance of food, we want to play an active role in the association and maintain an exchange with other players in the industry. Did you know that in 2023, a total of 68.2 litres of tea per capita were consumed in Germany, of which 40.5 litres were herbal and fruit infusions and 27.7 litres were green and black tea? Regular checks, for example for pesticides and other contaminants, are necessary to maintain the high quality. These require special experience due to the complex composition.
