soja

Our laboratory AGROLAB LUFA GmbH successfully expanded its portfolio for the analysis of genetically modified organisms (GMO). From now on, 15 genetically modified soy plants permitted for import and processing in the European Union (EU) can be detected and also quantified.

In the EU, feed consisting of, containing or produced from GMO authorised in the EU must be labelled (Regulation (EC) no. 1829/2003 and 1830/2003). However, feed containing less than 0.9 % GMO does not have to be labelled provided this proportion is adventitious or technically unavoidable (proof required) and the GMO in question originates from GMO plants authorised in the EU.

To ensure that your product does not require labelling, your products must be tested for the relevant GMO plant residues. For this purpose, AGROLAB LUFA GmbH uses a highly sensitive detection method based on the official protocols of the "Joint Research Center for GM Food and Feed" of the European Union.

The following genetically modified soy plants (with EU approval) can be analysed by AGROLAB LUFA GmbH:

  • RR2Yield (MON89788)
  • A2704-12
  • A5547-127
  • MON87701
  • FG72
  • DAS-44406-06
  • DAS-68416-4
  • DP-356043-5
  • MON87705
  • MON87708
  • DP-305423-1
  • CV127
  • MON87769
  • MON87751

In January 2021, another genetically modified soy plant (SYN-000H2-5) was approved for import and processing in the EU. Of course, we will also include this accredited soy event in our portfolio in the near future. As a specialist in GMO analysis, AGROLAB LUFA GmbH of course also offers GMO analysis for other plant species like rapeseed, maize, linseed and rice.
